Shruthi haasan talking about 7aum arivu & Suriya

I admire to Suriya’s work – Shruthi haasan

Shruti Haasan talks to “Hyderabad Times” about her forthcoming projects, rumors in the industry, dad Kamal Haasan and much more…
She’s doing films in both the big southern film industries, and actress Shruti Haasan is enjoying the experience. While in Tamil, she has the much-anticipated ” 7am Arivu” with Suriya in the lead to look forward to, in Tollywood, she has a film with Siddharth titled “Oh My Friend” and a movie with Junior NTR that’s keeping her busy.

The actress feels that “7aum Arivu”, which is her debut as a lead actress in Tamil cinema, has shaped up quite well. Sources say that she plays the role of a scientist in the film that marks the return of the super hit “Ghajini” combo (Suriya-Murugadoss-Harris Jayaraj). Quiz her about it and she says, “I can’t reveal a lot about it now as it’s all so hush-hush,” she starts off, “But the strength of this film’s director — Murugadoss — is that he never loses sight of the concept in the subject. Working on the film has been an enriching experience and I can safely say that it is genuinely different.”

Most of her friends were super excited when they heard that Shruti was cast opposite Suriya in the film. “Yes,” she gushes, “They were thrilled! I’ve always admired Suriya’s work and this film gave me an opportunity to watch him at close quarters. It’s been a learning experience.”
Her co-star in the film, Suriya, has often been described as the ‘next Kamal Haasan’ by people in the industry. So, what does she feel about it? “Well, I’m biased about my dad,” she states, “I’m very proud when people commend my dad’s work and think highly of his films. Today, if someone is termed as the next Kamal Haasan, tomorrow someone might be described as the next Suriya. That’s the charm of cinema.”
